here's some stuff

some animals drawings from my recent scans:

elephant

mop-dog

bulldog

i didn't actually see these birds. they live somewhere
that i'm not.

based loosely on a picture clipped from a magazine
that jordan and i kept on our fridge. it was from an article
about unlikely animal friendships. it was awesome. a pig
apparently nursed a baby tiger back to health...

thanks

hands

my hands. from some sketchbooks.

nicolaides knew what was up.

"A line in drawing is not meant simply to record how long or how wide a thing is. If it were it might as well been drawn with a rule. The important thing is for a line to say as much as possible of all that you know about the thing"
-Nicolaides (The Natural Way to Draw)

Concerning zoos and David Attenborough and tiny mastadons

So i went to the LA zoo recently. Lots of animals and stuff. Also, i've been in the midst of
a "Planet Earth" kick. Which is awesome. So, i have a lot of animal drawings. Here are
some of them, with some people thrown in.

 Coati: a sad racoon/dog/bear.

A hornbill is like a toucan and a bump. i didn't see it try to fly, and
aerodynamics aren't on his side, so i'm assuming they're flightless...

Also, scientists discovered the remains of a new kind of miniature mammoth... Seriously.

tiny mammoth
And i wants me one.

Thanks for looking, i'll post more of the animal drawings that i did at some point.

Troop

My family's dog for the past decade and a half or so, a black-lab named "Trooper", died a couple of days ago. He was awesome. I had to do this from memory, so please forgive the injustices done to him...

...

I'll do another one if someone will send me a couple pictures.

Friday, January 20, 2012

cause it's been a minute, and i told a couple people i would

i took some pictures of stuff i had in my current sketchbooks. its mostly faces. with some birds thrown in there.

Also, most of these drawings were done with a sexy new marker i recieved for xmas. its all japanese and stuff. ginger: you should get one.

Also, i usually crop the photos down and turn up the contrast to try to compensate for the mediocrity of my camera. i didn't. it's the apathy.

nothing demands respect like a good beard.

ignore the hand drawings... i just like the drawin of the british guy ^

long-eared owl and great grey owl. also, part of a burrowing owl...
the rest of the aforementioned burrowing owl.
